Dreams of a Dead God, the latest film by Memphis native and writer/director Jim Weter, has won Finalist – Best Short Film at the 2026 Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Making its festival premiere in January at the 2026 Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival in Lafayette, LA, Dreams of a Dead God is a 36-minute found-footage, cosmic horror film set in the world of HP Lovecraft. This also marks the 2nd award for the film after earning the Best Extended Short Film award at the Dunwich Horror Film Festival also in January.
