An officer was injured during the arrest of a suspect who led police on a chase Monday afternoon in Marion, Ark., the police department there said.
Joshua Henry, 27, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree battery (injuring police, fire, code enforcement, or correctional in line of duty), third-degree escape (escaping from custody), fleeing, fugitive from justice, theft of a vehicle valued at $25,000 or more and possession of drugs.
According to Marion Police Department, while an officer was placing the suspect into the patrol unit, the suspect began fighting the officer and was able to take control of the unit and drive away.
Marion police officers — with the assistance of the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office, West Memphis Police Department — and Arkansas State Police, were able to find the stolen patrol car, which led to a pursuit.
