MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County criminal case involving a former Memphis‑Shelby County Schools teacher took a significant turn in court today, as both prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed to waive the preliminary hearing, clearing the way for Kelsey Whitmore’s release once again on bond.
The announcement was made in open court Thursday, confirming that Whitmore’s $75,000 bond will be reinstated, and she is expected to be released from custody later today.
