MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this week in Southwest Memphis.
According to the Memphis Police Department, 56-year-old Charles Payne is charged with reckless homicide, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault resulting in death.
The charges stem from a shooting that happened Tuesday, April 7 at a grocery store in the 300 block of West Mitchell Road.

Police said officers responded to the scene around 11:15 a.m., where a man was found and pronounced dead.
Investigators say the shooting happened after the victim and the suspect were involved in a physical altercation.
