MARION, Ark. — A Marion Police officer who was hit by a vehicle during a chase is back home recovering.
Darrell Prewitt was trying to help apprehend a fleeing suspect three weeks ago when he was hit by another officer on Interstate 40 just west of the bridge.
“Like they say, there’s no place like home,” Prewitt said from his Marion home Monday.
It was around 1:30 in the afternoon, April 6, when the 33-year police veteran and other officers in Marion heard the call about a suspect who had jumped into a West Memphis Police car and tried to get away.
