Raleigh shooting: Ex-boyfriend shot, ex-girlfriend questioned

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police questioned a woman after her ex-boyfriend was found shot in the driveway of a Raleigh home early Wednesday morning.

​When officers arrived on Emerson Avenue at around 5:30 a.m., the man was being loaded into an ambulance, and a white Nissan Altima was in the driveway, with the engine still running and the driver’s-side door open.

At about the same time, police responded to a call about shots fired at a Raleigh apartment complex on Westline Drive.

A woman there said that her ex-boyfriend was vandalizing her vehicle, and he left in a white Nissan Altima. Officers detained the ex-girlfriend but haven’t said who fired the shots.

Neighbors told WREG they heard two rounds of gunfire but didn’t see anything. One young woman said everyone in her apartment dropped to the ground when the shooting started.

Officers found some 9mm and 40 caliber shell casings on Westline. Police said they also found a 40 caliber Smith and Wesson shell casing inside the shooting victim’s Altima.

Neighbors said the vehicle was later towed away from the home…
