ARIZONA CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — An Arizona City man made a remarkable recovery from a stroke that doctors say is incredibly rare. Denzil Lee Johnson suffered a stroke on his daughter’s birthday. His daughter immediately called 911, and now he is back on his feet with no lasting issues.
Weeks later, Johnson walked back into Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix to reunite with the doctor who helped save his life. He was back on his feet, showing no signs of the medical emergency that could have left him permanently disabled or worse.
“It’s amazing. It doesn’t happen every time. But when it does, it’s amazing,” said Dr. Dawod.
