Board of Regents sues to seize historic downtown Phoenix property for new ASU medical school

The Arizona Board of Regents has filed a lawsuit, on behalf of Arizona State University, so the school can acquire a privately owned, historic property in downtown Phoenix.

The Emerson House, built in 1902, is older than Arizona’s statehood. It’s also listed on the Phoenix Historic Property Register.

ASU is pursuing the right to seize the property for development of a new medical and engineering school…
