PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two people are in the hospital after a fire sparked at a high-rise apartment complex in central Phoenix late Friday night.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Phoenix fire crews received reports of a fire at the Pine Tower apartments, located near 36th Street and Thomas Road. Crews arrived and found flames coming from the fourth floor of the complex.
Due to the size of the complex, the response was upgraded to a first-alarm call, with additional firefighters and units requested to help battle the blaze. One person was pulled out of the flame-filled apartment…
