PHOENIX (AZFamily) — We hit our first 110° of the year just before 4 p.m. Saturday. There will likely be more where that came from over the next 7 days as this stretch of hot June weather continues.
Because of the higher humidity moving into the region, it will stay quite warm through the rest of the weekend. A surge of tropical moisture is pushing into the state, but it is delivering a blanket of clouds and mugginess rather than widespread rain for the Valley.
Sunday morning temperatures will only fall into the mid-80s before climbing back to around 109° during the afternoon. The extra moisture and cloud cover will act like a blanket overnight, preventing the urban core from cooling down as much as we typically see this time of year…
