Motorcyclist dead, driver hurt after chain-reaction crash in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead and another person was injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles in north Phoenix, according to officials with the city’s police department.

Officers responded to the area of Bell Road and 12th Street just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday for reports that a motorcycle caught on fire in a crash with two other vehicles. The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.

Witnesses at the scene told officers that the motorcycle was traveling down Bell Road at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a car turning left onto 12th Street. The impact pushed that vehicle into another vehicle that was stopped for the light, police said…
