Man critically hurt after being struck by car in Maryvale

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix early Saturday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m., Phoenix officers were called to a crash involving a pedestrian near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road. Investigators say the man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver involved stayed at the scene to speak with authorities.

This is the third serious pedestrian crash in two days in Phoenix. On Friday morning, a pedestrian died after being struck by a tow truck near 7th Street and Thomas Road.
