Phoenix broke a 15-year-old daily heat record on Saturday following an extreme heat warning for the area being extended through next week.
The temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which the National Weather Service uses for the city’s official readings, hit 115 degrees at 3:05 p.m.
