A fugitive wanted for more than 25 years in connection with the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend in Phoenix was apprehended in Mexico and returned to Arizona last week, according to federal authorities.
Abraham Rafael Pedroza-Garcia, 65, was taken into custody by Mexican authorities in May and extradited back to the U.S. on Friday, Sept. 11 by members of the District of Arizona’s Mexico Investigative Liaison Team, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a press release.
Pedroza-Garcia was wanted on charges of murder, aggravated assault and burglary in connection with the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, Maria Cruz-Galvan, and the stabbing of her partner, Sergio Covarrubias, inside her Phoenix home on April 1, 2000…
