PHOENIX – A late-night hit-and-run crash in west Phoenix sparked a multi-agency search by land and air early Sunday morning after a vehicle knocked out neighborhood power and then slammed into a 7-Eleven gas station.

What we know:

Emergency crews were dispatched around 1:45 a.m. on Sept. 27 to the intersection of 75th Avenue and Camelback Road after reports came in that a driver had crashed and jumped into a nearby canal. Responding firefighters and Phoenix police officers found a single car lodged into the gas station’s convenience store, which had closed up shop for the night, so there were no people inside.…
