PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s a First Alert Weather Day with rain and thunderstorms affecting the Valley.
Tropical moisture from the south is interacting with an unseasonably strong area of low pressure moving through from the west. This is producing heavy rain this morning across the Valley and state.
A Flood Watch is in effect for the Valley and much of Arizona through this evening. A Flash Flood Warning has also been issued for the northern edges of town, including Cave Creek, Carefree, New River and Anthem. More than an inch of rain has already fallen, and gauges are indicating creeks and rivers flowing strongly. More rain is likely over the next few hours…
