Kendra Kowalski said she has no family history of cancer and always lived an active, healthy lifestyle. That made her cancer diagnosis at age 63 a devastating shock. “I was looking around and memorizing people’s faces and I was trying, even as weak as I was, to say to them the last words that they might ever hear from me,” she said.
