‘The HOA said nope,’ says man who found out too late backyard gazebo was against rules – now it’s his job to remove it

A HOMEOWNER has found out too late that his backyard gazebo was against his HOA’s rules and now he was to remove it.

A video was shared on TikTok explaining that the gazebo belonged to the previous homeowner, who claimed that Arizona state law allowed him to have the structure in his backyard.

“Here is the backstory: the client who hired me recently bought this home [and] this was already obviously there,” said the user.

He explained that Arizona state law says that if the structure is there and bolted on, it’s allowed.

However, when the client bought the home, the homeowner’s association revealed that they had been fighting with the previous owner about the gazebo for about two years.

“It was never signed off by anybody with the HOA or the city,” said the TikToker.
