Surveillance video confirms driver ran red light before fiery crash involving Phoenix PD SUV

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Phoenix police have released two new surveillance videos of a fiery crash late last year that left a 19-year-old woman dead. On Thursday, Dec. 21, police say a woman was driving at a high speed eastbound on Thunderbird Road when she ran a red light and clipped a Phoenix police SUV that was attempting to turn onto northbound 35th Avenue. Surveillance video obtained by Arizona’s Family shows vehicles coming to a stop in two left lanes as the light turned red, just before a sedan in the right lane continues through the intersection. Video shows the car clip the front end of the patrol SUV, ricochet off a utility pole and spin out. Seconds later, the car burst into flames.
