GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A couple is facing charges after Glendale police say a toddler was beaten and later died when they didn’t get him medical help. According to court records, Francisco Javier Felix Higuera and Maria Isabel Machado Perez drove a 21-month-old boy to a CVS pharmacy at 75th Avenue and Bethany Home Road on Thursday because he wasn’t moving and not breathing. The boy had bruises all over his body and cuts on his head, face and groin area. Firefighters were called and they took him to hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
