PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Phoenix police have identified a man who was found shot to death near Interstate 17 as the investigation into his homicide continues. On Feb. 6, Phoenix police responded to reports of an injured person near Cactus Road and Black Canyon Highway. Officers arrived and found 70-year-old William Mielke, who was pronounced at the scene. Police say there were no obvious signs of injuries to Mielke at the time, but an autopsy by the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner revealed that he had been shot by a small caliber gun.
