Despite incarceration and an eviction notice, Breakfast Bitch has no plans to close

Breakfast Bitch, a downtown Phoenix brunch restaurant opened by Tracii Show Hutsona and her husband, Derrell, will remain open on Roosevelt Row following an eviction notice last month that made headlines .

Roosevelt Row Apartments filed a complaint in Maricopa County Superior Court on Feb. 27 alleging that the tenants did not pay February’s rent or the full amount of January’s rent and asked the court to compel Breakfast Bitch owners Tracii and Derrell to pay more than $26,500 in missed rent for the location at 330 E. Roosevelt St.

The case was dismissed without prejudice, according to a Feb. 29 notice of dismissal filed with the court that showed the rent had been paid.

The Republic reached out to Christopher Walker, attorney for Roosevelt Row Apartments. He declined to comment for this story.

Tracii Show Hutsona has been serving a 51-month sentence in federal prison since March 2023 after being convicted of fraud for embezzling more than $1 million from her former employer, Joumana Kidd, ex-wife of former Phoenix Suns player and current Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, for whom Hutsona worked as a personal assistant.
