MESA, Ariz. – Homes have been evacuated in a Mesa neighborhood due to a garbage truck fire. The fire is near Southern Avenue and Horne. “Crews have evacuated the immediate surrounding homes, and they are working on putting out the fire within the garbage truck. This is a CNG vehicle. There is off gassing of the CNG tanks. Crews are letting the CNG burn while protecting exposures,” the Mesa Fire and Medical Department said.
