Man arrested after 24-year-old Arizona man’s body found near Gila Bend

A man was arrested on suspicion of the suspected murder of a 24-year-old engineer who went missing last month.

Samuel Bush, 23, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of the murder of Alijah Bradley, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Bradley, an engineer who graduated from Northern Arizona University, went missing shortly after his birthday in August, according to a GoFundMe for his funeral expenses. His disappearance was reported to the Gilbert Police Department on Aug. 15, according to the Sheriff’s Office. His body was discovered on Aug. 19, east of Gila Bend.

“Alijah’s untimely passing has left a profound void in the lives of his family and friends,” the GoFundMe reads. “Alijah was known for his free spirit and wild soul, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.”

Officials said the investigation into Bradley’s death was ongoing.

Bush was charged with second-degree murder and concealing body parts, according to video of his initial appearance in court. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday.
