Yelp released its list of “Best Sandwiches in Every State,” and a Phoenix deli made the cut.
Yelp considered restaurants in the sandwich category, from subs to banh mi to Cubano and even grilled cheese, and ranked them based on ratings, volume and location.
Family-owned Frank’s New York Style Deli is housed in a 1950s building and has been in business since 1982. The shop received 4.8 stars from 472 reviewers for sandwiches that have previously landed them on Yelp’s 2023 list of “Top Southwestern Restaurants” and on The Republic’s 100 Essential Restaurants 2024 .

The Tony sandwich — an Italian combo made with genoa salami, pepperoni, hot capicola with mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomatoes, onions, Italian dressing and provolone cheese — received a special mention.
Other menu items include corned beef, roast beef, pastrami, salami and steak sandwiches, salads and desserts.
