The Arizona Department of Transportation issued its weekly travel advisory for the upcoming weekend, warning motorists of roadway closures that could disrupt travel plans.
Westbound I-10 closed between SR 43 and the I-17 split interchange
Closures include westbound lanes on Interstate 10 between State Route 143 and the Interstate 17 interchange near Sky Harbor Airport from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.
Westbound I-10 on-ramps at Baseline and Broadway Roads and the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue will be closed along with the southbound SR 143 on-ramp at University Drive starting at 8 p.m. Friday.
I-10 drivers going west can detour on northbound SR 143 to westbound Loop 202 or use eastbound U.S. 60 to northbound Loop 101 and westbound Loop 202 in Tempe.
Southbound I-17 closed at Loop 303
Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303 and Jomax Road and closed at Loop 303 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Southbound I-17 on-ramps at State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Dove Valley Road will also be closed. Loop 303 and Sonoran Desert Drive will be closed under I-17. ADOT suggested drivers use off-ramps and on-ramps at Loop 303 as a detour and avoid local roads east of I-17 that weren’t designed for heavy traffic.
