Arizona Supreme Court Upholds Two-Year Suspension of Maricopa County Prosecutor for Falsifying Charges Against Protesters

On September 11, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the two-year suspension of April Sponsel, a former prosecutor from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Sponsel was disciplined after collaborating with the Phoenix Police Department to falsify charges against protesters, branding them as gang members.
