MESA, Ariz. – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident reported Wednesday morning in a Mesa neighborhood that resulted in a dog being shot. At about 10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Ellsworth Road and Pueblo Avenue for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies learned a dog had allegedly been shot by its owner. The animal was transported to a veterinarian for treatment.
