Phoenix Weather: Record-Breaking Heat to Continue Through the Week Across Arizona

Phoenix continues to experience record-breaking temperatures, with no immediate relief in sight. The National Weather Service (NWS) has reported that the region has now reached 15 consecutive days of either tying or surpassing daily high temperature records. The first week of October has been nearly 14 degrees above the norm, making it the hottest on record for the area, even surpassing the previous record set in 2020.

The current weather pattern is dominated by strong ridging that is keeping the area unusually hot for this time of year. While some cooling is expected as the week progresses, temperatures will still remain well above seasonal averages. The Phoenix metro area is unlikely to see a high below 100 degrees until early next week.

A weak trough along the southern California coast is expected to move onshore over the next 24 hours, increasing moisture levels slightly. However, there is no significant rain expected in the coming days. Skies will remain mostly clear, with periods of increased cloud cover.
