Emhoff urges votes for Harris in ‘most important election of our nation’s lifetime’

As early voting drew near, second gentleman Doug Emhoff campaigned before three distinct audiences across the Phoenix area to try to persuade voters Kamala Harris was the better choice for president.

The race remains up for grabs in Arizona, according to the most recent polls .

Emhoff spoke Tuesday at a Republicans for Harris event in Mesa, a fundraising event in Paradise Valley, and at South Mountain Community Center in Phoenix.

Emhoff urged Republicans and independents to cast a ballot for his wife in what he called the “most important election of our nation’s lifetime.”

Harris would protect fundamental facets of the American system that Trump does not respect, he said.

“On all of these issues: our democracy, the rule of law, our standing on the world stage … there is only one choice —and that choice happens to be my wife, Kamala Harris,” Emhoff said.

At the first event, Emhoff appeared alongside Mesa Mayor John Giles. The longtime mayor called the Emhoff “an asset to our country” after emphasizing the outsized influence Arizonans have as swing-state voters.
