Police identify victim in north Phoenix stabbing

Phoenix police have identified Henry Lawrence, 54, as the victim who died after being stabbed this week in the 2400 block of East Union Hills Drive.

Officers responded to the area about 11 p.m. Oct. 7 and found Lawrence with what appeared to be a stab wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Matthew Ryan Fain who, police said, matched the suspect description was detained without incident.

Homicide investigators responded and processed the crime scene, collected evidence and conducted interviews that included one with the suspect, police said.

Fain was booked one count of first-degree murder.
