Gilbert, AZ – According to the Gilbert Fire Department, at approximately 11:00 AM today, chaos unfolded at Jersey Mike’s, located at 4984 S Power Rd in Gilbert, Arizona, when a vehicle drove straight through the front door of the popular sandwich shop. Authorities say two people inside the restaurant, seated near the window, were injured in the crash and were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
First responders from the Gilbert Police Department, Gilbert Fire Department, and Mesa Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene. The incident was escalated to a “heavy extrication” by Gilbert Fire Department Battalion Chief 251, prompting the dispatch of additional units. Emergency crews set up a triage area near the restaurant to assist the wounded.
The Gilbert Fire Department Battalion Chief confirmed the details of the accident, highlighting the significant structural damage caused by the vehicle. Glass was scattered throughout the interior, and parts of the building were severely impacted.
