Record-Breaking Heat Expected for Phoenix This Week; Temperatures to run 10-15 degrees above normal

Phoenix is bracing for an unseasonably warm week, with temperatures soaring near record highs, the U.S. National Weather Service stated. Starting Wednesday, high pressure building over the Interior West will push afternoon highs close to 80°F in the Greater Phoenix Area, with some desert locations potentially reaching up to 81°F. These temperatures are 10-15 degrees above normal for this time of year, and there’s a strong chance of breaking or tying record highs from Wednesday to Saturday. Dry conditions will persist throughout the week, with no significant cooling expected until next Sunday. The warm weather is expected to last well into Christmas week.
