PHOENIX — A bill that would close a funding gap at the Division of Developmental Disabilities and avoid cuts to in-home services for Arizonans with disabilities has been passed by the state House of Representatives.
House Bill 2945 would provide emergency funding for the DDD, and would cap the number of weekly hours parental caregivers can be paid for taking care of their children at 40. It passed in the House by a vote of 48-11-1.
The DDD provides services for almost 60,000 children and adults around Arizona who have autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome or other disabilities.
