New Mesa manager’s salary second lowest in Valley

Incoming City Manager Scott Butler will earn an annual base salary of $345,000 when he assumes his new title June 1, the second lowest paid among his Valley counterparts.

Council last week on consent agenda approved the contract. City Manager Chris Brady is retiring May 31 after 19 years at the helm. His annual salary is $350,000.

Butler, currently the assistant city manager, will be eligible for future salary increases based upon merit and performance and at the discretion of the council, according to the contract. He’s also eligible for any cost-of-living percentage increases…
