TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A Tempe bar was at the center of an underage drinking operation on Thursday that resulted in nearly 175 people being taken into custody.
Investigators say the police department teamed up with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for the crackdown at a bar in the area of McClintock Drive and Apache Boulevard because police had received multiple complaints about underage people at the location. While police didn’t name the bar, Tempe Tavern is in that location.
During the operation, police say many of the underage drinkers had fake IDs. Of the 173 people arrested, 165 were underage and were cited and released. The other eight were booked into jail. Drinking underage is a misdemeanor…
