PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Some drivers will have to change their weekend travel plans as a major freeway will be shut down for a construction project in north Scottsdale.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the northbound lanes of the Loop 101 Pima will be closed between Shea Boulevard and Pima Road/Princess Drive. Drivers won’t be able to use the freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, as crews work on a widening project.
Phoenix-area drivers should note that westbound I-10 will narrow to four lanes between SR 143 and 32nd Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. This will be for pavement work as part of the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
Ramp closures scheduled for May 2-5:
- Southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10
- Westbound I-10 off- and on-ramps at 40th Street
- Westbound off-ramp at 32nd Street
- Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road
- Westbound Loop 202 Santan on-ramp at McQueen Road and off-ramp at Arizona Avenue
- Northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Via De Ventura and 90th Street
Drivers that typically use the Loop 101 Pima can use westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain to SR 51 to get back to the Loop 101. Northbound Loop 101 traffic should exit Shea Boulevard and detour to Scottsdale Road to reach the freeway…
