PHOENIX — A man from Phoenix is suspected to have drowned at Bartlett Lake on Saturday, according to officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the drowning happened at S.B. Cove around 4:30 p.m. The swimmer was walking across the cove when he lost his footing and went under, officials said. He never resurfaced. Officials said cold water temperatures and the unexpected depth of the water may have contributed to the swimmer going under.
The swimmer was with a group of friends, and one tried to help but started to struggle himself and swam back to safety, officials said. Boats in the area also tried to help…
