Heatwave Hits Arizona: Temperatures to Soar in Lower Deserts

PHOENIX, AZ – This weekend, the Phoenix area and other lower deserts are bracing for the hottest temperatures of the year, reaching 100-108°F, according to the National Weather Service Phoenix, AZ office.

A high-pressure system will dominate, bringing widespread moderate to localized major heat risks. High temperatures are expected to continue into Sunday, with some higher elevations seeing temperatures in the 80s and 90s.

Breezy conditions will also affect central and southern Arizona, with wind gusts between 25-35 mph expected. As the weather system moves westward next week, temperatures will cool slightly, with highs in the upper 90s to low 100s on Monday. By midweek, temperatures could dip below normal, with highs in the 80s.
