PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Five people are displaced after a double house fire erupted in uptown Phoenix Tuesday afternoon.
Fire officials were called to the area of Central Avenue and Bethany Home Road before 1 p.m. on reports of a house fire. When they arrived, crews found heavy flames and large plumes of smoke along Marshall Avenue, just west of the intersection.
Due to the size and extent of the fire, the call was upgraded to a first alarm call in order to bring in more resources. Firefighters worked to gain control of the fire quickly while trying to keep it from extending into the interior of the second home.
No injuries were reported, but fire officials said five people have been displaced. The city of Phoenix’s Community Assistance Program is now working to help with their needs…
