Mesa Public Schools chief emailed critical parent’s employer

Parent Heather Austin last week accused Mesa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Andi Fourlis of an underhanded tactic after she emailed her about the district’s curriculum.

Austin wrote to Fourlis in April on her job’s email account, which the superintendent used against her. Fourlis is retiring June 30.

“Dr. Andi Fourlis researched and reached out to the owner and co-founder of the firm in which I work,” Austin said at the May 13 Governing Board meeting. “I’m just a parent. Dr. Fourlis felt the need to look at my bosses and try to get me in trouble at work because I disagree with some things and have spoken at a couple of board meetings.”…
