Mac & cheese festival, movies at the park among things to do across Phoenix area

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Whether you’re kicking off the start of summer vacation or enjoying the holiday weekend, there are plenty of things to do for families across the Valley!

Cause For Paws | May 24 | Tempe Marketplace

As temperatures warm up in the Valley, you’ll want to protect your precious pup. Fulton Homes will be at Tempe Marketplace passing out free booties to protect your pup’s feet! The event is focusing on raising awareness about how sizzling sidewalks and roads can injure dogs. Staff will be passing out booties from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

14th Annual Chili and Salsa Cook-Off | May 25 | Phoenix

Head over to Pat O’s Bunkhouse Saloon for the annual chili and salsa cook off! There is a $10 entry fee per person, and cookoff entries are $10. Participants must have their entries in by 12 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Aunt Rita’s Foundation, One-n-ten, and Prisma Community Care. The winner of the best salsa will snag $250, and the grand prize for the best chili is $300!

Foam Frenzy | May 24-26 | Scottsdale

Beat the heat at a free foam party at Arizona Boardwalk! The event features foam parties, classic fire truck water play, water squirter battle zones and more fun water activities for families. Don’t forget to wear water shoes and put on sunscreen. This will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m…
