Queen Creek led East Valley in population growth in 2024

Queen Creek led the East Valley in population growth between 2023 and last year – and Pinal County wasn’t far behind, according to the latest report by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Queen Creek grew the fastest as 8.1%. After that were the Pinal County communities of Casa Grande at 7.7%, Maricopa at 7.4%, Apache Junction at 7.2% and even Coolidge at 7.1%.

To accommodate all that, the state is extending SR 24 farther into the county and planning a new north-south corridor as SR 505 plus a yet-to-be designed east-west corridor. And then there’s the widening of Interstate 10 south of Chandler to handle more traffic…
