Mesa woman’s unique challenge honors brother who died of heat exposure

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A Valley woman who lost her brother to the heat is making it her mission to save others from the same fate.

Amanda Ferguson is pledging to drink 100 ounces of water for 100 days this summer to raise money and spread awareness that no one is immune from the extreme heat, not even young, healthy people who’ve lived in the Valley for years.

“Well I’m hydrated that’s for sure. I probably need to use the restroom at any given moment, but I really do feel great,” she said…
