In a move designed to streamline operations and enhance neighborhood safety, the city of Scottsdale has transitioned its Code Enforcement team from Planning & Development Services to the Scottsdale Police Department.
This strategic shift, effective June 1, will improve efficiency, reduce duplication of efforts, and provide additional support through the resources and command structure of the police department.
The realignment brings the city’s 19-member Code Enforcement team under the umbrella of Scottsdale Police, allowing for a more coordinated response to quality-of-life issues such as property maintenance, zoning violations and public nuisance complaints.
“This change is about maximizing impact and improving service delivery for our residents,” said Scottsdale Police Chief Joe LeDuc. “By integrating the Code Enforcement team into our department, we gain a force multiplier that allows us to more effectively address neighborhood concerns and preserve the character and safety of our community.”…
