No one will face charges for death of Ahwatukee teen

PHOENIX — No one will face charges for the death of an Ahwatukee teen, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Phoenix Police recommended charging a 14-year-old boy with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing and killing 15-year-old Jaylen Reeves last November.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell declined to prosecute. She said the boy accused of stabbing Reeves may have a strong case for self-defense, which she said her prosecutors likely couldn’t disprove in court…
