ADOT Seeks Public Input on North-South Corridor Project—Comments Due by June 10

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is asking for public feedback on the proposed northern segment of the North-South Corridor in Pinal County—an approximately 20-mile stretch that would connect Apache Junction to Florence.

This segment, officially designated as State Route 505, is currently undergoing a Tier 2 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which began in May 2025. This phase of the study focuses on refining the purpose and need for the project, evaluating preliminary route alternatives within the 1,500-foot corridor previously identified during the Tier 1 EIS, and reviewing potential interchange locations. Each proposed route would require a 400-foot-wide freeway alignment.

According to ADOT, the North-South Corridor is intended to improve regional mobility, provide an alternative to I-10 to ease congestion, and enhance connectivity between communities.
