Fine time: Warning period ends for new Tempe photo enforcement system

PHOENIX – With the trial period over, it’s now going to cost you if you get caught speeding or running a red light by the new Tempe photo enforcement system.

The East Valley suburb activated cameras at multiple intersections on May 7. The devices monitored traffic during a 30-day warning period that ended Thursday.

But as of Friday, drivers will get $250 fines if the Tempe photo enforcement system catches them speeding or running a red light. If both violations are captured in one incident, it will count as two violations…
