An armed man suspected of stealing a woman’s purse at a Phoenix hotel was hospitalized after an officer rammed him with his patrol vehicle during a chase.
Sgt. Phil Krynsky, a department spokesperson, said officers responded to the hotel near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road around 3:15 p.m. June 7 to reports of an armed robbery. Witnesses told officers that a man robbed a woman while armed with a handgun and fled east on foot. The officers were given a thorough description of the man, Krynsky said.
About an hour later, officers found a man matching the description at a gas station near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road, Krynsky said.
