Phoenix police are on the hunt for a suspect following an April 20 armed robbery at a central Phoenix Walgreens, with law enforcement officials appealing to the public for assistance. The incident, which occurred near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, involved a man described as white, in his early to mid-twenties, approximately 5’10” to 6’0″ tall, around 200 pounds, with short brown hair, and was caught on the store’s security camera pulling a knife on a security guard after attempting to leave the store with unpaid items.
He was spotted wearing a black hoodie, dark sweatpants, and white sneakers, and based on the surveillance footage, police believe the suspect may reside in the vicinity of the Walgreens, making it imperative for local residents to be vigilant and report any sightings of individuals matching the suspect’s description. In the surveillance video released, which ABC15 reports can be viewed through their website, the man is seen brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner towards store security personnel as he was in the process of absconding with the stolen items.
The authorities have underscored the urgency of the situation by describing the suspect as armed and dangerous, and Silent Witness has stepped in to offer a reward of $1,000 for information that could lead to his arrest.
